Responsibilities

  • Utilize strategic and analytical frameworks in conducting strategy, operations, and technology work for various Health Plan functional areas: Marketing, Sales, Business Strategy, Product, Legal/Compliance, Provider Network Development, Enrollment & Billing, Care Management, Claims, Customer Service/Call Center, Data Analytics, Financial Reporting.
  • Structure and drive work streams on complex transformation projects and ensure project delivery objectives (e.g. on time, on budget, and high quality).
  • Manage program/project work from concept through implementation, engaging all necessary functional.
  • Conduct strategic assessments in a range of areas (e.g., front office, operations, health plan administration, project management offices, information technology).
  • Implement new and improved business and IT capabilities with a change management mindset.
  • Provide continuous, value-added consulting across strategy development and operational improvement to ensure project delivery fits into company mission, vision, and business strategy/roadmaps.
  • Prepare elegant deliverables (work products/project artifacts, and effectively and efficiently present them to client leadership.
  • Specific responsibilities may include:
    • Develop project charters, detailed project plans, and work breakdown schedules
    • Create and maintain multi-year program or project plans, including project budgets and “level of effort” cost estimates
    • Conduct stakeholder analysis and drive communication and alignment to achieve future state objectives
    • Develop and maintain contingency plans
    • Document project status, analysis, options and recommendations in executive-ready format, including preparing and facilitating executive and project team meetings
    • Partner with Freed Client Executives to sell, frame, and deliver consulting engagements.

 

 

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated, talented senior-level consultants to join our team; people with the following attributes and experience tend to excel in this work at Freed.

  • Front office and line management work experience in Health Plans
  • Product, Marketing and Sales operations’ knowledge that spans Level 1/2 processes and underlying technologies.
  • Deep expertise in a minimum of three key Health Plan functional areas such as: Marketing, Sales, Business Strategy, Product, Legal/Compliance, Provider Network Development, Enrollment & Billing, Care Management, Claims, Customer Service/Call Center, Data Analytics, Financial Reporting.
  • Ability to establish a broad strategic view on a program/project initiative, and break it down into an actionable strategy development framework, or operational improvement plan.
  • Experience with driving multiple aspects of large transformational projects in healthcare.
  • Poised and confident in working at many levels and with many functions in the Health Plan organization, which could include interactions with physicians, nurses, other caregivers, analysts, managers, directors and senior leadership.
  • Versatility: can comfortably serve in both Operational Improvement and Strategy project assignments.
  • Enough technology expertise to be the connection and “voice” between operations and IT areas.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, operate in fluid situations, and embrace a challenge.
  • A high degree of self-motivation, integrity, and flexibility.
  • Ability to produce high quality deliverables and timely results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience identifying new opportunities within a client project.

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of health plan line management and/or commensurate consulting experience.
  • Professional experience with branding, digital marketing/service, and/or product development/management highly desirable.
  • Experience with commonly used systems, supporting health plan Sales, Operations, or Financial Administration (e.g. Salesforce, Trizetto, FACETS).
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree, PMP, and Lean Six Sigma Certifications are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel on the West Coast required.
